New Years eve, Uncle Sam's, and Alex Macomber

Time to kiss another year goodbye! Dog Leg Preacher will be welcoming 2009 at Uncle Sam"s American bar and grill in Spanaway Washington (16003 Pacific ave Spanaway WA 98387).The show will kick off around 9:30. This is a small club, with a very intimate setting. However, They are currently building a 30, 000 seat Amphitheater behind the Club, and are expecting to be hosting some major shows late this summer. Dog Leg will be looking forward to seeing many of their south sound friends out there this Wednesday night.
Last Saturday Dog Leg performed at a benefit for 17 year old rocker Alex Macomber. Alex is currently in ICU at The University hospital. He is undergoing treatment for a very rare type of blood cancer. DLP is proud to be a part of helping Alex. The show was a success with a very good turnout considering the weather. We would like to thank Chrissy for having us out, and putting on such a wonderful event, as well as the other bands, Silver, Mechanism, Shades of Sanity, and Ronnie Munroe of Metal Church. Also a big thanks goes out to KISW 99.9 FM of Seattle Washington for sponsoring this event. You guys rock. Currently there are plans in the works for several other benefit shows for Alex. Dog Leg Preacher, Metal Church, and the Bear

Friday and Saturday December 26th and 27th Dog Leg Preacher will be performing at the Royal Bear in Algona Wa (35731 west valley highway Algona WA 98001) Friday night DLP will be the sole performer for an evening of high powered original Rock and Roll. There has been a slight change in the Saturday night schedule, DLP will be kicking off that evenings entertainment, other featured performers include: Metal Church, Mechanism, Shades of Sanity, and Silver. This event will be a benefit fund raiser put on by KISW and the Pink Pillow foundation. Proceeds will be going to teenage rocker Alex Macomber, who is suffering from a rare form of blood cancer. Fridays show is $7 at the door, or $10 for Saturdays show. DLP will take the stage around 7:00 P.M. on Saturday. There will be a very early crowd for this one. so get there early if you would like a seat!!!

What can we say, Wow what a show. Thanks to everyone who braved the inclement weather to come out and see this one. The Bear was crazy that night. The sound and light production was first rate. Big kudos to Ron Wagner of Pro Lighting and sound. Thanks to Vic and Nina Wright of The Wright Image(www.w-image.net) and Karen Knapp for the Excellent photography. There are just not enough shows like this happening out there anymore. Dog Leg Preacher would like to express their deepest heartfelt Honor, and Pride for being involved in this one. Randy Hansen as always is a first rate performer, and a legitimate gentleman. DLP will be looking forward to doing more shows with Randy very soon. Dog Leg Preacher will be returning to the Royal Bear for the weekend directly after Christmas (December 26th and 27th) Its going to be a happy return after a show like this.

The Funhouse in Seattle hosting Dog Leg Preacher

Sunday November 30th Dog Leg Preacher will be performing at the Funhouse in Seattle. The Funhouse is located at 206 5th AVE N. Right across the street from The Space Needle. DLP will be joined by their good friends "Call Me Crazy". This will be the first time that these two acts have shared a stage. Once again we are anticipating a large crowd so you should get there early if you would like a seat!!!!

Jimi Hendrix Birthday celebration

Dog Leg Preacher will be performing a few numbers at the Jimi Hendrix Birthday celebration and concertthis Saturday night. There is a long list of Celebrity Guest performers, comprised of Interational and Pacific northwest Talent. Several of the guest performers include:

Hayley's Bar and Grill

The show at Hayley's bar and grill was fantastic. Definitely a great venue to perform in. The staff there is both cordial and professional. A big thanks to Hayley or the hospitality, and to the house technician Joe for his assistance with the house system. Two fun filled nights in a row. Ml3 is a great band. April's vocals were right on the money. Cavernous groove also put on a incredible performance Saturday night. Those guys sing together extremely well. Also a big thanks to Be My Grave for putting on a first rate show both nights, those guys really pack a lot of energy into their sets. We definitely want to give a big thank you to all the great people who came out to see these shows. Without your support these shows couldn't happen. It was Very nice to see some of our favorite NW musicians in the crowd again, including Somar Macek, (Somar/ Straight On) Steve Fossen (founding bassist from Heart), Leslie (Pretty Boy Floyd/ Markie Ramone)and Randy(Bass guitar with Shyanne) We would like to thank Karen Knapp, Melissa Gayle,and Carter (profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=321401960) for the great photograpy. High Powered rock show coming to Hayley's bar and grill in Everett.

This weekend November 21st and 22nd 2008, Dog Leg Preacher will be bringing their high powered rock show to Hayley's bar and grill in Everett Washington. Special guest's include; ML3, Be My Grave, and Cavernous Groove. AS always there will be a large group of Pacific Northwest Musicians,and Promoters there. Definitely a great place to do some networking. The cover charge is $6 at the door,, but if you get in town early the street team will be there handing out discounted admission bill and other freebies. This will be a weekend to remember!!!

Dog Leg Preacher performs to standing room only crowd in Snohomish Washington

Stewarts place in Old Town Snohomish was packed last Friday night. Definitely a great time. Dog Leg Preacher would like to thank all of the great musicians(from as far away as San Diego, Denver, and Miami) who showed up to see the show. A partial list of these great players would include: Randy Hull, and Joe Matson formerly of Faded Glory, Fred Zuefeldt and Tobey Bowen formerly of Bighorn, Dave Greenburg of Bratt, Jay Pulliam of The Rhyming Polanskis, Mick Johnson formerly of City Kids, and The Notorious Bandits. "Ciggy" Andrew Cater from Tumbling Dice, and Kieth Cowan AKA buster, if you don't know him you probably should. If we have missed anyone our apologies, there were a lot of people there and it was hard to get to everybody. Dog Leg Preacher would like to thank everyone who showed up. it was a real good time. The Sturgis Movie, and Hayley's bar and grill

We are now 1 day away from the Dog Leg Preacher show at Stewarts in Snohomish. From all we have been hearing we are expecting a big crowd, so you better get there early if you would like a seat.
Talking to our film crew, they are on the third cut of the Sturgis movie. We are expecting a preview very soon, and hoping for a public performance in the next several months.
We also would like to remind everyone that Dog Leg Preacher will be performing at Hayley's bar and grill (1712 Hewitt ave Everett Wa 98201) on Friday November 21st and Saturday the 22nd, so mark your calendar. Hayley's was formerly Jimmy Z's. We will have several guests opening these shows; ML3, Be My Grave, and Cavernous Groove. We are also expecting some large crowds here, so we would recommend an early arrival. Hayley's is now completely remodeled and has a completely different atmosphere than Jimmy Z's. (It doesn't smell foul in there anymore either). Dog Leg Preacher has lots of new songs they will be performing at all of these shows so come and check it out.

This week in Snohomish

Dog Leg Preacher will be cranking it up this Friday night for their one night high energy rock show at Stewarts Place. Freshly remodeled Stewarts is located at 207 1st Street, in old town Snohomish 98290. This show will be somewhat of a homecoming event, as several of the band members live nearby. Special celebrity quest, songwriter Randy Hull will be opening up the evenings festivities. We are definitely expecting a large crowd, so get there early if you would like a seat.

Portland was great!!!

What else can be said. A packed house, great people, great times. Portland was a blast we will be looking forward to playing this town again soon. Special thanks to the Red Room, The band PMS, and all the great people who came out and enjoyed the show.

The return of Solomon Kane

Solomon (Daniel) Kane will be returning to the stage, just in the nick of time to play Dog Leg Preachers Portland Oregon show. DLP rejoicing at Solomons return, it is hard to believe how much energy he brings to the stage, not to mention rock solid bass playing. Solomons first return performance will happen Saturday November 8th at the Red Room 2530 NE 82nd AVE Portland Or, 97220. Sturgis video Featuring Dog Leg Preacher

Our good friend Fox, the cameraman from the band MidStokke recently posted a short clip of a Dog Leg Preacher performance. This is Marcelo playing Little Wing at the Buffalo Chip on the Kinnison stage, rally week Sturgis South Dakota. DLP was playing in a thunderstorm and a complete downpour. the flashes you see are actually lightning strikes that were happening all around as the band was playing. What a crazy time.

Rocking at Waldo's

The show at Waldo's was a great time. We would like to thank our friends MidStokke for having us out, and congratulate our new friends Down North for putting on a great show. Captain Kurke did an incredible job filling in for Solomon Kane on bass. Solomon is expecting a new prognosis on Monday, so we expect to know then just how long he will be on injured reserve. Thanks to everyone who came out to see the show, it was a blast.

Dog Leg Preacher prepares conflagration for Waldo's

This coming Friday night October Twenty Fourth. Dog Leg Preacher will again be sharing a stage with Seattle Rock Heroes MidStokke, in a no holds barred rock and roll grudge match that is guaranteed to blister even the most sturdy of lead based paints. This will be a different type of show for Dog Leg, as Front man Joe Kurke will be filling in for Bassist Solomon Kane, who was placed on injured reserve last week after suffering a separated tendon in his left elbow. Solomon is doing quite well in his recovery, and is expected to return in time for the Stewarts show in Snohomish in Mid November. Joe Shikany Memorial

Sunday October 18th Dog Leg Preacher attended a memorial service for Joe Shikany. A incredible guitarist, and rock legend, not to mention a good friend. although we have not heard an official head count the crowd definitely numbered in the thousands. The experience was incredible, so many people sharing their personal stories, performing songs, sharing memories. I am sure that Joe is proud of the way people came together for this event. Friends like this is part of what makes the Seattle music scene such a special place to call home. WE WILL MISS YOU JOE.

Solomon Kane undergoes emergency surgery

Dog Leg Preacher bassist Solomon (Dan) Kane just underwent emergency surgery on his left elbow. Solomon was standing on a chair to straighten a picture (just like Jesse James) when the chair collapsed. That is how he sustained a tendon separation at his left elbow. Dan is now in recovery and feeling alright. He has a cast from his wrist to his shoulder. We are being told that Dan will be out of comission for approximately four weeks. Needless to say this will affect Dog Leg Preachers upcoming show schedule. Front man Captain Joe Kurke will be strapping on the bass guitar again to cover the showcase sets (45 minute gigs) but some of the longer shows will be rescheduled. There will be more updates on this site soon. The band is planning on being ready to go again in time for the Stewarts show in Snohomish on November 14th. We will all be wishing Dan a speedy recovery.

Dog Leg Preacher plays benefit for Tulalip boys and girls club

Dog leg Preacher put on one great show at the Tulalip boys and girls club last weekend. What a wonderful facility. It was great to see all the smiles on all the faces, and to work with such genuine and gracious people. For those who can go out and check this place out I highly recommend it. The program there is exemplary. The world needs way more places and people like this. It was an honor to be a part of their program, and Dog Leg Preacher will be looking forward to working with them in the future.

Dog Leg Preacher in Longview Washington

This weekend September 19th and 20th, Dog Leg Preacher will be hitting the road again for a short trip to Longview Washington. DLP is excited to be playing a new room "Kennedy's Nightclub" in Longview. Kennedy's is located at 1101 commerce ave, Longview WA 98632. Dog Leg will be spending their off time this weekend working on new material for their upcoming CD. With six tunes in the can the suspense is growing as this project gets ever closer to completion. A quick note on the Sturgis Movie. The film is still being arrangened, we have way more footage than we anticipated, with over forty hours of film viewed there is still more to cataloge before we begin the editing process. Dog Leg Preacher soundman attacked by deranged woman

Dog Leg Preacher's show at Jimmy Jacks Classic rock Cafe was brought to an abrupt end Friday night September 12th, when their sound engineer Courtley Everett was attacked by a deranged woman. The exact cause for this unprovoked attack is still not clear, however the woman was screaming about being reincarnated by Jesus, and being sent back here to vote for Barrak Obama?? This unexpected attack came while Dog Leg was finishing the last half hour of the Friday night show. Courtley called off the last of the performance when the crazed woman spilled her drink all over the Mixing console.(no need to get electrocuted ) . Fortunately no one was injured as the attack consisted mainly of finger waving, pointing, and profanity. After all was settled things got back to normal, and tonights show at Jimmy Jacks (Sat Sept 13th) will go on as scheduled. We hope that this will be a lesson, religion, politics, alchohol, and insanity are a bad combination. All crazy things aside the show Friday night was incredible, with a special guest appearance by the band MidStokke. Dog Leg Preacher rocked the house as usual with fans crowding the stage apron. This is a show you just shouldn't miss. Tonights show starts at 9:30. Jimmy Jacks is located at 13428 hwy 99, in Everett Washington. Get there early, this club will only hold 150 or so.

Dog Leg Preacher prepares to Rock Sound Harley Davidson

This coming Saturday September 6th Dog Leg Preacher will be tearing up the Sound Harley Davidson dealer in Smokey Point Washington. This special event is Sound Harleys second Anniversary celebration. Dog Leg Preacher will be joined by their favorite local rockers MidStokke. Sound and Staging will be provided by our good friend Keith from Loud Technology's (Mackie). The show is slated to kick off around 1:00 p.m. with free food starting at noon. There will be door prizes, giveaways, and up to 75% off on Harley merchandise. This is an all ages event, so Dog Leg will be looking forward to seeing many of our under 21 fans that we never get to see often enough. Dog Leg Preacher would like to say thanks to all of our freinds, fans, and everyone else who showed up to help us Rock Granite falls. The place was rocking, rumor has it that the toilets in the restrooms were even vibrating from the music. Special thanks to Mike, (the owner of the Spar Tree)and Brad (Monroe Welding) you two have helped this band in more ways than we can count. we would also like to thank Courtleys friend Robert who came out to help with the setup and tear down. These shows are always a lot of work. It was so nice to see so many of our friends here. We hope to see many of you again real soon.

Dog Leg Preacher set to Rock Granite Falls Washington

This coming Saturday August 30th. Dog Leg Preacher is set to bring their own style of high powered high energy rock to the Historic Spar Tree tavern in Downtown Granite falls Washington. This will be Dog Leg's first public performance in Washington State since their Sturgis roadtrip. Everyone is excited to be back home. We are looking forward to partying with some of our good friends in Granite. Dog Leg will also be performing at Sound Harley Davidson on Saturday sept 6th for their Second Anniversary party.
